About Frequency Distribution Calculator
A frequency distribution calculator helps you organize and analyze data by showing how often each value or range of values appears in your dataset. This tool generates comprehensive frequency tables with various statistical measures.
Frequency
The number of times a specific value or class interval appears in the dataset. It provides a count of occurrences for each unique value.
Relative Frequency
The frequency divided by the total number of observations. It shows the proportion of the data that falls into each category, expressed as a decimal.
Cumulative Frequency
The running total of frequencies up to and including the current value. It shows how many observations fall at or below a particular value.
Percentage
Relative frequency expressed as a percentage. It makes it easy to see what portion of the total dataset each value represents.
Grouped Data
When you have a large dataset, grouping data into class intervals makes patterns easier to identify. The calculator uses Sturges' rule to determine optimal class intervals.
Applications
Useful for analyzing survey results, test scores, sales data, quality control measurements, and any dataset where you need to understand the distribution of values.
